Good Karma

Story:

Red a colour used at weddings, and an ink colour for writing cards in indian culture to bring wealth and prosperity. The reason I called this Good Karma was because this necklace has sterling silver vintage indian charms that have sacred meaning. I designed this piece to bring the wearer good luck.

Eastern Promise

Story:

There are so many colours, textures and variety of components in this piece it was my symbolic memory of what a variety of plates can look like in certain Hindu ceremonies. I wanted it to feel like having everything that was important, embedded in one bracelet.

Story:

This piece is very special to me as it holds hidden messages and memories of my summer in Paris. The tapestry buttons reminscent of the beautiful antique furniture shops I stumbled across, tea cups having tea and cakes in some beautiful patesseries and my favorite Annick Goutal perfume from my first trip to the store many years ago in St Germain des pres.

Golden Collar

Spring/Summer 2010 Collection

This necklace brings a fusion of the east with west, the collar a representation of all that is now with the rise in modern technology, it's clean and hard edged, however in contrast I used pearls symbolic of other aspects in life that are simple,soft, femine a representation of nature yin and yang. The 2 silk scarfs at the back of the necklace are inspired by belts worn around the waist with Kimonos symbolic of the binding tool bringing the two together.

Story:

Having visited an african art exhibition I was inspired by the amulets and costumes that were worn and wanted this necklace to be symbolic of the strength and power these people had.

New Fall 2010 Collection

Story:

Seguidilla Necklace has been inspired by Flamenco dance and music. A Seguidilla is a quick, triple-time old Castillian folksong and dance form. The song is generally in the major key and often begins on an off-beat. It was from this I drew inspiration and used vintage black lace which was symbolic for the traditional spanish lace fabrics and colours often used in Flamenco dress trims and fans.

Marian name is an adjective used of things relating to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
